The moment of truth has come for Amazonas student-athletes. Registration for the tryouts for the Brazilian School Games (JEBs 2024) in the Under-18 Male and Female category ends, this Friday (15), for those interested in competing in Athletics, Wrestling and Chess.

According to the Amazon School Sports Federation (FADE), participation in the state selections is the only way to guarantee classification for the JEBs, a national event organized by the Brazilian School Sports Confederation (CBDE) that gives a passport to the Gymnasiade, in October , in Bahrain.

The state Athletics tryout takes place on the 23rd, at the Vila Olímpica de Manaus. Chess is pre-scheduled for the 23rd and 24th, at a location to be confirmed, while Wrestling is scheduled for the 29th, in the Amazonas Legislative Assembly gymnasium.

According to the president of FADE, professor Auricélio Andrade, the best student-athletes in the state athletics, wrestling and chess tryouts for the JEBs will be entitled to airfare, accommodation and food. The national stage of these three modalities takes place from the 17th to the 25th of May, in Aracaju (SE), together with the Karate and Table Tennis competitions.
