A PT delegation is in China this week to participate in a series of exchange and cooperation activities with the country’s Communist Party. The delegation of 20 leaders arrived in Beijing this Monday (12).

According to party information, the visit is part of a “cooperation agreement between the PT and the Communist Party” to carry out “sociopolitical exchange activities”.

There will be ten days of activities and political debates in which PT members will visit Communist Party facilities in the country and learn about the public policies implemented in China. A tribute is also planned to Wladimir Pomar, a PT leader who recently died in São Paulo and who began to foster relations between the two leftist parties.

The visit of the PT entourage to the Chinese Communist Party shows a rapprochement between the two left-wing parties and the leaders, especially President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), who was in Beijing in April.

On the occasion of the visit, Lula gave clear signs of political alignment with an authoritarian regime, in addition to closing trade agreements with the Asian country.
