Opposition criticizes withdrawal of requirements in the CPMI of 8/1

Senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) protested this Tuesday (13) against the exclusion of the opposition’s requests to summon the Reuters agency photographer, Adriano Machado, to the Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI) of the 8/1. The members of the collegiate are discussing this Tuesday the call requirements that will be approved.
Machado was seen in images from the closed circuit cameras at the Planalto Palace during the January 8 invasion, photographing the action of the vandals. Opposition deputies and senators want to know if there was a staging of the acts. Senator Magno Malta (PL-ES) and Deputy Delegado Ramagem (PL-RJ) also criticized in this regard.
The conduct of the CPMI rapporteurship was again questioned during the session. Senator Marcos do Val (Podemos-ES) criticized what he considers the “partiality” of rapporteur Eliziane Gama (PSD-MA) and a “coordinated effort to shield Minister Flávio Dino (Justice)” from accusations of “lenience with the invasions of public buildings”. In addition to the presence on the committee of six parliamentarians from Maranhão who did not support the CPMI request, he sees indications in that direction as the placing in the background of requests to hear witnesses who, according to him, could prove the current federal government’s omission.
