Prerogatives counter Moro defends whistleblowing in the Marielle case – 07/25/2023 – Panel

The Prerogativas group, made up of lawyers and law professionals, countered the criticisms made by Senator Sergio Moro (União-PR) and former federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) to the Lula government (PT) for the use of a plea bargain in the Marielle Franco case.

Moro told the Panel that the government should “bite its tongue” for having criticized the use of whistleblowers in Lava Jato. On social networks, Deltan manifested himself in a similar way.

According to lawyer Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, coordinator of Prerogativas, the group continues to be critical of award-winning pleas when they are used in a distorted manner and without other supporting evidence.

“What [Moro e Deltan] What they forgot to say is that the accusations in question were not, it seems, conducted as they used to be carried out in the wake of Operation Lava Jato”, says Carvalho.

This Monday (24), the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, announced new revelations about the murder of Marielle, which took place in 2018, based on the award-winning denunciation of former PM Elcio de Queiroz, who participated in the crime.

According to Carvalho, the accusation, in this case, was not “suggested” by judges, prosecutors or Federal Police delegates. The proximity between Moro and the Public Ministry was revealed by hacked dialogues, exposed in the so-called Vaza Jato.

“Moro’s and Deltan’s indignations, always selective, should be turned against the hateful murder of our dear councilor Marielle, victim of a hatred that they themselves helped to inoculate in society”, he declared.
