Today with two emergency care units, north and south, both belonging to the state, Macapá, in early August, will also have its first municipal UPA, to be delivered by Mayor Antônio Furlan, together with UBS Lélio Silva, revitalized.
The information was given by the Macapa manager himself, on the morning of Tuesday, 25, in an exclusive interview to the Diário de Comunicação System, through the LuizMeloEntrevista program (Rádio Diário FM 90, 9), when he gave a brief account of his administration.
The Ministry of Health qualifies the Emergency Care Unit (UPA) as an establishment belonging to the Emergency Care Network with the objective of concentrating health care of intermediate complexity, composing a network organized together with primary care, hospital care, home care and Samu.
Mayor Furlan explained that the revitalization of the Basic Health Unit Lélio Silva, in the Buritizal neighborhood, south of Macapá, is practically completed, and that it has not yet been delivered to the population due to the municipal UPA being in the final details phase, but that in early August the two works will be inaugurated.
In the interview, the manager of the capital also announced the project for the Care Center for Children and Adolescents (Occa). According to him, Occa will be the biggest social assistance work that Macapá will ever have, bringing together several activities in one place. Aimed at children, the Center will provide social assistance, sports, leisure and culture.
Antônio Furlan, in general terms, pointed out that there is no sector of the municipal public administration that he can point out as a priority, but that “the jewel in the crown” is the assistance that the city hall has been giving to people with the autistic spectrum. Since TEAtendo was implemented, the service has assisted 2,700 people with the issuance of a report.
The mayor is also very satisfied with the paving of the city’s streets and the creation of binaries, seven in all, which has given greater mobility to the city, whose population, by table, is still benefiting from 32 kilometers of built sidewalks.
Having the first lady of the municipality, Rayssa Furlan, at the head, the Secretariat for Popular Mobilization is pointed out by the manager as having a great performance, managing to bring services to people in places in the city and in the countryside.
Mayor Furlan revealed that the great partner of the City Hall, in Macapá Verão’s programming, is the private initiative, which has provided shows with the presence of one hundred thousand to two hundred thousand spectators. “We’ve never had a July as lively as this one”, he highlighted, to announce the last attraction, Banda Parangolé, promising afterwards to account for the event in all its aspects – social, economic and cultural.
Antônio Furlan spoke of the importance of the ‘Dr. Papaléo Paes’, which concentrates numerous services, including cardiology and dentistry, as well as children’s and women’s services, a diagnostic center, images, tomography, contrasts, mammography and densitometry, among others. He created five new basic health units and expanded three.
In his administration, Mayor Furlan increased the number of daycare centers, from five to 12, and renovated 22 schools. Education in the municipality of Macapá is one of the four best-evaluated capitals in the country by the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb). The relationship with the teachers is very good.
In the interview, Mayor Antônio Furlan stated that since 2021 Macapá’s management has unlocked agribusiness and family farming. To illustrate, he recorded that in the entire state of Amapá there are six thousand hectares of soy planted, five thousand in the municipality alone.
After talking about other achievements of his government, Antônio Furlan, recently rated the best mayor in Brazil, with 81.4% popular approval, announced that the construction of a housing complex with five hundred houses is being planned on the land belonging to the Municipality of Macapá, on the Norte/Sul highway, in the Alvorada neighborhood.
