PL creates program to prevent aggressive practices in schools

The proposal provides for the creation of a committee that promotes studies on the reality of schools
Manaus (AM) – The president of the Education Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), state deputy Cabo Maciel (PL), presented to the House a Bill nº 516/2023, which creates the Multidisciplinary State Program for Prevention and Combat against acts and practices aggressiveness within elementary and middle schools, public and private, in Amazonas.
According to the PL, multidisciplinary actions to combat aggressiveness are those that, in a didactic-pedagogical way, aim to identify, interpret, substantiate and create protocols aimed at the physical and psychological safety of teachers, students and other education servants. Schools must present a plan that establishes socio-educational measures, protocols and actions, such as lectures, conversation circles and artistic exhibitions.
For the parliamentarian, it is important that, in addition to protocols and preventive measures, socio-educational proposals are carried out proactively. “If we limit ourselves to proposals and actions that only scratch the surface of the problem, we will fail in our duty to protect the present and future of these children, adolescents and young people. It needs to go further by addressing the structural and systemic issues that affect their safety and well-being,” he explained.
The proposal also foresees the creation of a committee that promotes studies on the reality of schools and the children inserted in them, as well as the role of the internet in the aggravation of terrorist practices of violence against schools. “The objective is to propose effective actions that can deal with these challenges in a comprehensive and integral way. For this, it has the approval of this proposal to guarantee the safety of our school community”, concluded Cabo Maciel.
