Pirralho Project: TJAP delivers sports materials and benefits children and teenagers from the “Tatame da Cidadania” – News of Brazil

The Court of Justice of Amapá (TJAP), through the Pirralho Project, delivered sports materials to the Social Sports Project Tatame da Cidadania: which trains citizens through the practice of martial arts, such as: Jiu-Jitsu and Muay-Thay, developed by the Integrated Center for Social Defense Operations (CIODES). The action will benefit around 200 children from January 2024, aged 6 to 17. 48 tatami mats, 5 football boots and 20 sports cones were delivered, an investment worth R$ 11,100.24. All equipment was purchased with resources from the Children and Youth Courts Support Fund (FAJIJ).
The following were present at the signing of the Donation Agreement for sports equipment: judge Gilberto Pinheiro, dean of the TJAP court and State coordinator of Children and Youth at TJAP; the CIODES coordinator, captain Diego Alves; and the licensed president of the Amapá Football Federation, state deputy Roberto Góes.
“It is exciting to see the Court of Justice, through the Pirralho Project, investing in the cause, that is, in children who live in situations of social risk, thus preventing these children from falling into the world of crime. Sport, like Muay-Thay and others, always gives children guidance, encouraging them to pursue a profession, helping them to occupy a place in society with education and security. I congratulate the Military Police for helping these children and teenagers have a future.”highlighted judge Gilberto Pinheiro.
On that occasion, judge Gilberto Pinheiro learned about the entire operation of CIODES, as well as the more than 100 professionals who make up the Integrated Center.
About the Social Project
The “Citizenship Mat: training citizens through the practice of martial arts” Project, coordinated by Lielson Milburges da Costa Júnior – Colonel of the Military Police, was created at the end of 2018 at the Integrated Center for Social Defense Operations – CIODES.
Its emergence came from the concern of some of its employees who practice martial arts, who, upon observing the growth in the number of crimes committed by minors, even in the juvenile age group, and the lack of more effective actions to review this problem in society, they had the noble initiative of implementing the aforementioned project: Tatame da Cidadania, which brings together Center staff trained in martial arts and other external martial arts teachers as collaborators.
Those involved in the project take knowledge acquired to the most needy children in the communities surrounding CIODES, offering fighting styles, contributing to a better formation of life in society, where everyone can exercise their rights and learn to respect rights and diversity of others.
