PDT will officially support Boulos on January 8 – 12/28/2023 – Panel

The PDT will formalize support for the candidacy of federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL) for São Paulo City Hall in an event in the capital of São Paulo on January 8th.

The event will take place at the PDT headquarters in São Paulo. “We are a party that was a victim of the 1964 coup, which is why we decided to use the date to mark the defense of democracy”, says the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, licensed president of the PDT.

Boulos has the support of the PT, which should nominate the vice president on the ticket. There is an expectation that the position could be occupied by former mayor Marta Suplicy, currently without a party, and who is part of the Ricardo Nunes (MDB) administration, who will seek re-election. In this case, she would join the PT.

Boulos obtained support from the PT after giving up running for the Government of São Paulo in 2022 and declaring support for the then candidate Fernando Haddad (PT), current Minister of Finance.

The PDT even affiliated presenter José Luiz Datena with the aim of launching him as mayor, but the agreement did not go ahead.

Later, according to party members, Datena tried to be a candidate for vice on Boulos’s ticket, but the case did not go well either.

In December, he joined the PSB and could be a candidate for vice on the ticket headed by federal deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP).
