Manaus (AM) – The first month of counselor Yara Amazônia Lins’ second term in front of the Amazonas Court of Auditors (TCE-AM) was marked by the recognition of state managers and leaders, and the idealization of new projects for the next two years. Sworn in on December 1st, the counselor will preside over the Court of Auditors for the 2024-2025 biennium.

Among the goals stipulated by the president-adviser since her inauguration are: internal harmony, technological modernization and the pedagogical role of the Court. For the two-year period, counselor Yara Amazônia Lins also aims to improve the Court’s activities in supervising those under its jurisdiction, especially related to the pedagogical side.

“We will act on external control in a manner focused on providing benefits to the capital Manaus and all municipalities in the interior. The Court must not only be punitive, firstly, it must have pedagogical guidance as a priority, so that managers can be guided to avoid failures and punishments”, stated the new president of TCE-AM.

The Court’s new management has adopted a preventive stance in the face of punishment, working to hold courses and resume projects such as Tele Audit, which provide guidance and clarifications to managers to prevent the occurrence of irregularities in administration.

According to the president, a guidance course is already planned for January for all managers of jurisdictional bodies related to the accountability process.

Women’s Ombudsman

Another important action announced by the president was the creation of the Women’s Ombudsman’s Office. The only woman to preside over TCE-AM and a member of the Plenum, counselor Yara Amazônia Lins stated that she will create a specific sector in the Court to address the issue in a qualified and dedicated way.

The Ombudsman’s Office will have professionals trained to deal with specific issues related to combating gender-based violence.
