Pro-life parliamentarians, who defend life from conception, spared no criticism regarding the technical note, published by the Ministry of Health this Wednesday (28), which allows abortion for women pregnant up to nine months, if they state that was raped and wants an abortion.

In a speech in the Chamber plenary, this Thursday (29), the deputy Chris Tonietto (PL-RJ) expressed his repudiation of the note of the Lula government. “The Technical Note published yesterday by the Ministry of Health wants to expand access to the so-called “legal abortion” to women regardless of gestational age. This is yet another serious threat to the lives of thousands of innocent babies across the country. We are taking action !”, he said.

The deputy Carol de Toni (PL-SC) warned of the advancement of the “death agenda” in President Lula’s government and recalled that many politicians were denounced for pointing out Lula’s support for abortion in the 2022 elections.

“Do you remember when we reported that Lula was in favor of abortion and we were accused of Fake News? Yesterday, a technical note was published by the Ministry of Health to extend the permission for the murder of children in their mothers’ wombs, regardless of gestational age. With the measure opens the door to death, without any permission from parliament, which was the one who should legislate on the subject. It is a unique inhumanity and we, parliamentarians, will not accept it in silence”, declared the deputy for X network.

In the assessment of the federal deputy Rosangela Moro (União-SP), the Lula government’s measure is “very serious”. “If it is a case of rape, the woman does not wait 9 months to report it. This is engineering by the Ministry of Health to allow abortion at any time. Let’s overturn this!” X networkformerly Twitter.

For the deputy Sergeant Gonçalves (PL-RN), the Lula government disrespects the Legislature and families. “This Technical Note highlights a lack of respect for families and the Legislature. Parliament is the one who should deal with this issue, and the majority of the House does not approve abortion, as does society,” said Gonçalves.

The senator Damares Alves (Republicanos-DF) also announced that his office “is studying what legal and legislative measures we can take against this culture of death”.

The deputy Rodrigo Valadares (União-SE) highlighted that “legalizing abortion goes against all Christian customs”. “The criminal note reflects the will of the current president, but not the desire of Brazilians,” he declared.

The senator Eduardo Girão (Novo-CE) asked “whether the ministry is for health or death?”. And he also pointed out that President Lula’s government “reveals itself to be a mega electoral fraud because it committed itself in a letter to Christians in the campaign that it would defend life “in all its phases”. “And there were people who believed in the TSE-shielded abortionist who is co-responsible for such inhumanity”, he said X network.

In view of the publication of the MS technical note, the federal deputy Messiah Donato (Republicanos-ES) filed a request for information (nº 315/2024) demanding information about the government measure that “makes a clear and dangerous gesture towards the implementation of murders of babies even up to the last day of pregnancy”. In the request, the parliamentarian states: “the Ministry of Health’s decision is deeply worrying and represents a setback in policies to protect the life and health of women and the unborn child.”

After criticism and pressure from parliamentarians, the Ministry of Health decided to suspend the technical note that authorized abortion in cases of rape at any stage of pregnancy. The ministry claimed that minister Nísia Trindade was unaware of the publication.

“It is clear that a pro-abortion Government, without strength in Congress, uses other means to promote the culture of death. We, in Parliament, will not let this prosper within the Brazilian family”, criticized the Colonel Telhada (PP-SP).
