The Instituto Paraná Pesquisas released this Thursday (15) the first survey that determines the electoral race for mayor of Aracaju, in Sergipe, in 2024. There are three scenarios evaluated in which the current mayor, Edvaldo Nogueira (PDT), does not run for election already in his second consecutive term.

The survey points out that the candidate for senator in the state last year, Delegate Danielle Garcia (Podemos), leads the three scenarios determined, two of them with more than 30% of the votes and the third with a smaller advantage over the runner-up, councilwoman Emília Corrêa (Patriot).

Former governor Belivaldo Chagas (PSD) would not pass to the second round in one of the scenarios established by the institute. The current vice-governor, Eliane Aquino (PT), would also not advance in the election according to Aracaju voters.

The survey also revealed that the current mayor has the administration approved by 66.4% of voters. Altogether, Paraná Pesquisas interviewed 657 people in person between the 3rd and 7th of June, with a margin of error of 3.9 percentage points.
