This Monday (08), the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) announced the call for 50 athletes and 10 guide athletes for the Paralympic Athletics World Cup in Kobe, Japan, which will be held from May 17th to 25th this year. The Amapá Wanna Brito was one of those called up for the competition. She will be competing in the F32 class.

“Let’s go together for another great mission. Heading to Kobe. Gratitude to God for everything always”wrote the para-athlete, on her social networks.

The composition of the Brazilian delegation was based on the entry criteria published by the CPB in January this year. All athletes called up must meet the minimum eligibility requirements of the World Para Athletics (WPA, an entity linked to the International Paralympic Committee and which governs the sport worldwide) for the Kobe 2024 World Cup.

Wanna is a para-athlete who has always stood out on the national and international scene. Recently, at the Paralympic Training Center, in São Paulo (SP), she set a new world record in the shot put in her class, reaching 7m85. Furthermore, she broke the Americas record in the club throw, reaching 26.38m.

Wanna also won the Parapan gold medal in Santiago, Chile, in the shot put. The athlete is currently 1st in the world rankings in shot put and 2nd in the club throw in her class.
