Milton Leite also seeks to be Ricardo Nunes’s vice-president in SP – 09/10/2023 – Panel

President of the São Paulo City Council, councilor Milton Leite (União Brasil) joined the group of those interested in taking on the vice-presidential ticket for Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in 2024.

“We will discuss together with the other parties and the mayor at an appropriate time”, says Leite to the Panel.

Leite is the main São Paulo leader of União Brasil, which currently has Kim Kataguiri (SP) as a pre-candidate. The federal deputy has an agreement with the leadership of the party that he must make his candidacy viable, that is, make it relevant in terms of voting intentions, until the party conventions (from July 20 to August 5, 2024).

If he fails, the party must support the current mayor.

Leite is in his third consecutive term as president of the São Paulo Legislature and the possibility of trying to run once again has also been discussed.

In addition to Leite, Fabio Wajngarten, lawyer for Jair Bolsonaro (PL), and Marta Suplicy, municipal secretary of International Relations who was suggested to Nunes by Valdemar Costa Neto, president of the PL, also appear in the race for vice.

State Secretary of Public Security, Guilherme Derrite suggested to the mayor the name of Civil Police delegate Osvaldo Nico, endorsed by governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicanos-SP) as “a good name”.
