The president of Argentina, Javier Milei, shared this Sunday (25) messages on Silva (PT) to the terrorist group Hamas.

One of the messages shared by Milei said “Lula is for Hamas. Bolsonaro is for Israel. Fin” [Lula é pró Hamas. Bolsonaro é pró Israel. Fim].

Another stated that Bolsonaro’s act was a mobilization of the Brazilian people “against Lula’s authoritarianism and against harassment and persecution of the opposition” [contra o autoritarismo de Lula e o acossamento e perseguição da oposição].

A message shared by Milei also described Bolsonaro’s speech as “a historic speech” and in defense of freedom.

The Argentine president also shared a message that stated that on Sunday “the rumbo of politics in Brazil and the resistance against the dictatorship of Lula da Silva” was defined. [o rumo da política no Brasil e a resistência contra a ditadura de Lula da Silva”].

A final message described the act as a “massive anti-Lula protest” and showed a video in which Bolsonaro waved an Israeli flag, referring to the diplomatic crisis generated by the statement in which Lula compared Israel’s action in the Gaza Strip to that of Adolf Hitler against the Jews.

In August last year, before winning the elections, Milei even said that, if elected, he would not maintain relations with Brazil or countries led by “communists” nor would he meet with Lula after assuming the Casa Rosada. On several occasions, he also threatened a separation with Argentina’s other strategic partner, China.

In December, Milei’s speech changed and he even invited the Brazilian president to his inauguration, who ended up just sending his chancellor, Mauro Vieira, breaking a four-decade tradition. The last time the president or vice president did not go to Buenos Aires was in 1983.

At the beginning of February, Argentina’s Economy Minister, Luis Caputo, stated that he counts on Brazil to help Argentina overcome the serious economic crisis that the country is facing and that the only divergence between the two countries is in football.
