PM estimates 750 thousand people in pro-Bolsonaro event, see how it was

The pro-Bolsonaro act carried out this Sunday (25) had a conciliatory but combative tone. With strategically chosen speeches and posters with compromising messages eliminated at the request of the organization, the Christian and family spirit of the conservative right predominated.

Hundreds of thousands of protesters headed to Avenida Paulista, in São Paulo, for the event that was scheduled for 3pm, causing the road, which is the stage for political events, to be filled with people along its entire length. According to the PM, 750 thousand people were present and “there were no relevant incidents”. In the morning, the green and yellow colors on the protesters’ clothes began to appear in the area and brought activity to the establishments in the region.

In addition to Brazilian flags, some present had the Israeli flag on their backs in support of the country that suffered criticism and was compared to the Nazis by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), generating an unprecedented diplomatic crisis.

The expectation of rain announced by the weather forecast was not confirmed and, on the contrary, the scorching sun caused many present to feel ill amid the crowd of people, needing to be helped with the help of the military police and the fire brigade. The commander of the Military Police, Colonel Marcelo Vieira Salles, led the troops, in a clear show of force rarely seen in demonstrations in the city.

More than 100 politicians, including governors, deputies and senators were present, consolidating right-wing alliances both for the municipal elections that will be held in 2024 and for the presidential elections in 2026. Mayor Ricardo Nunes (MDB), whose attendance was questioned by opponents, went to the scene, but, like the others, he did not take a leading role in the speeches.

Two electric trios were positioned between Masp and Fiesp. One of them, with capacity for 80 people, was the stage for speeches while the other served as a base for the other politicians and personalities. Organizer Malafaia had to intervene to appease people who wanted to get on the electric trio, blocking some due to the vehicle being overcrowded.

STF, democracy, freedom of expression and death of Cleriston

The death of Cleriston Pereira da Cunha, arrested due to January 8th, was part of the speech of organizer Silas Malafaia, who also defended Israel, criticized Lula, and questioned the differentiation made by the courts between the sentences given to right-wing and left-wing supporters.

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), in turn, recalled the benefits of the Bolsonaro government for the economy and the country’s credibility, fundamental to attracting investors, and said in his speech, addressing Bolsonaro: ” You are no longer a person, you represent a movement.”
