MIDR and Amapá representatives discuss strategies to implement Amaparque – News of Brazil

In a recent meeting held in Brasilia, the Minister of Integration and Regional Development, Waldez Goes, received the secretary of Infrastructure of Amapá, David Covre, and federal deputies Professor Goreth, Josenildo Abrantes It is Dorinaldo Malafaia, to discuss the implementation of Amaparque.

When completed, Amaparque will be one of the largest urban parks in the world, covering 6,500 hectares of Lagoa dos Índios and Igarapé da Fortaleza, in the metropolitan region of Macapá and Santana.

“We are discussing strategies for the realization of this project, through the MIDR, given the significant impact that Amaparque will have on regional development, enabling the creation of new businesses, with job and income generation in various sectors, such as tourism, leisure, culture and environment”stressed the minister Waldez Goes.

The progress of the project counts on the support of the federal bench from Amapá, led by senator David Alcolumbre. “We are going to work on transversal articulation with other sectors of the federal government. Its implementation will positively project Amapá and the Amazon on the international scene. We could already feel the excellent welcome to our proposal, when we presented Amaparque at the United Nations Climate Conference (COP-27), in Egypt, in November 2022. Let’s move forward, united around this project that will promote development regional, bringing benefits and pride to all the people of Amapá, the Amazon and Brazil”concluded the minister.
