Conor McGregor was accused of raping a woman during the fourth game of the NBA Finals, the North American basketball league, between Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat, last Friday (9).
According to the North American news portal, the UFC star stated that the accusation is not true.
The website’s report was based on the complaint filed by attorney Ariel Mitchell. He claims NBA and Heat security helped separate the woman from a friend. Then, according to the lawyer, they forced her into a bathroom where McGregor and her security were already there.
Mitchell also says that “security refused to let [a mulher] leave or allow anyone else to enter the bathroom.” And that McGregor emerged from a handicapped stall “and stuck his tongue in the victim’s mouth and kissed her aggressively.”
The indictment says that McGregor forced the woman to perform oral sex and that she managed to elbow the former UFC champion. At one point, she would have managed to escape the bathroom, but when she ran out, she would have forgotten her purse. She then, according to the account, had to beg for its return.
The lawyer says that a police officer instructed the woman to file a complaint.
The alleged victim reported the case to local authorities and is seeking an agreement with McGregor, the Miami Heat, the host of the match, and the NBA before litigation in court, says the website. The fighter’s representatives deny the accusation.
The UFC also said it is aware of the allegations and is working to obtain more information.
“The UFC will allow the legal process to unfold before making any further statements.”
During one of the breaks in the NBA match, Conor McGregor was also involved in another controversy. Invited to participate in a sponsor’s half-court act, he punched Heat mascot Burnie, who had to be hospitalized.
According to The Athletic portal, the man who works with the fantasy received medication to ease the pain and was released the next day.
