Mayor of Recife boosts communication in 2023 – 10/14/2023 – Panel

In a pre-election year, the mayor of Recife, João Campos (PSB), has already used three additional credits to reinforce communication. In total, R$27.5 million has been allocated to the area since June. The initial budget was R$55 million.
The most recent reinforcement, of R$7.5 million, occurred on October 4, within a total supplementary credit of R$12.6 million. The resources came from the cancellation of the budget forecast for the payment of interest on unpaid debts.
The mayor of Recife, who is expected to run for reelection next year, had already made two more supplements for the area, R$15 million in June and R$5 million in August.
In a note, the city hall stated that the reallocation of budget resources is “a common procedure, since the budget is very dynamic and its management goes through this type of movement to optimize the allocation according to the need.”
The municipal management added that these changes do not affect the budget of Recife City Hall, nor do they violate the legal limit set for communication.
