There are 30 players available in the squad for 2024. Before entering the field for Paranaense, the team won the Torneio Paraná de Verão, a preparatory tournament that they competed against PSTC, Galo and Cianorte, with three wins and a draw.
The debut in Paranaense 2024 will be the Cidade Canção classic, against Maringá Roosteron Saturday (17), at 8:30 pm, at Willie Davids Stadium.

Goalkeeper Dheimison, midfielder Serginho and strikers Mirandinha and Robertinho are some of Dogão’s highlights.
Promise
The duo Pedrinho and Diego Sousa, who rose from the base, are Maringá’s expectations for the State. In addition to them, striker Edison Negueba (Photograph), signed from Ceará and a highlight of Series C, is another that stands out as a potential bet for Paranaense. The player is 23 years old and also played in Series B for Sport in the final stretch of the competition.
The teacher
Dogão’s command is Jorge Castilho, 41 years old. It was with him that Maringá left the second state division in 2020, the year he arrived at the club, and was runner-up in Paraná in 2022. Last year, he beat Flamengo, 2-0, in the first game of the third phase of the Copa do Brasil, in addition to reaching the semi-finals of the Paranaense and the second phase of the Brazilian Series D.
Three years ago, Castilho was still working as an app driver to supplement his income and finance his football studies. He has also worked as a night watchman and dispatch manager.
In the last season
In 2023, Maringá reached the semifinal of the Paraná Championship. They were eliminated by Athletico, after an aggregate score of 3-0, and ended up with the fourth best overall campaign and the third best attendance average, just behind the Atletiba duo. Dogão was still runner-up in 2022 – lost the title to Coritiba.
