The success of the program is attributed to trained and renowned professionals, including former professional football players who act as coaches.

“Pelci has a significant impact, we have reached more than 15 thousand children across Amazonas, boosting sport in different modalities. Within the scope of football, the program encompasses 2,356 athletes, who receive supervision from 20 professional coaches”,

informed Jorge Oliveira, Secretary of State for Sports and Leisure (Sedel).

said Ediglê Farias.

“Being a football coach goes beyond technique and tactics, from the moment we interact with athletes, especially here at Pelci, somehow we manage to become part of everyone’s family, also contributing to education, because The main aim of the project is to train athletes, but also good citizens”,

highlighted Fábio Gomes, football coach at Pelci, at the Ismael Benigno stadium.

Fábio Gomes has a degree in Physical Education and is a former professional player, with a notable career in clubs such as São Raimundo, Rio Negro, Fast, Nacional, Penarol, Manaus, Baré and Grêmio Atlético Sampaio, where he ended his career as a player.
