It is expected that Dimicro will contribute to opening 400 direct jobs, aiming to strengthen the Manaus Free Trade Zone

Manaus (AM) – Reinforcing the leading role of the City of Manaus in the economic strengthening of the capital, Mayor David Almeida, and the Vice President of the Republic and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, inaugurate next Tuesday (25), at 2 pm, the District of Micro and Small Companies of Manaus (Dimicro), located on Prímula Street, in the Industrial District 2 neighborhood, East Zone.

The current management concluded in one year the work on the space intended for the installation of enterprises in the industrial segment, which had been abandoned for 15 years. Under the management of the Municipal Department of Labor, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Semtepi), Dimicro will be the base for companies that supply equipment for the Manaus Industrial Pole (PIM), to use the site, and the expectation is that 400 direct jobs will be generated, contributing to the strengthening of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM).

“We are finalizing preparations to officially deliver Dimicro, our management has this differentiated look at the population and with entrepreneurs. Dimicro is going to be an incubator with 28 entrepreneurs, with the support of the city hall and, also, of Suframa. This space will be fundamental for these workers to be able to develop their companies within a comfortable and adequate structure”,

says the mayor of Manaus.

The site occupies a total area of ​​174,113.42 square meters, provided by the Superintendence of the Free Zone of Manaus (Suframa). Created by Law No. 1,238 of April 28, 2008, Dimicro was inaugurated for the first time in 2016, but has never been occupied by industrial companies. In 2021, Manaus City Hall made a technical study possible for full operation. With Law No. 2,739 of 2021, new measures were established regarding the administration, occupation and renovation of the space.

“Manaus City Hall comes, through the delivery of Dimicro, to meet a demand of almost 20 years, which is the provision of a public incubator for microenterprises of an industrial nature, which already provide a service for the Industrial Pole of Manaus, but which need support to become stronger and generate more jobs and income distribution throughout the city”,

said Radyr Júnior, head of Semtepi.

In total, the space houses 28 sheds, 10 measuring 235.73 meters; nine with 212.13 meters and another nine with a space of 94.78 meters. Dimicro also has common areas, cafeteria, qualification and decompression room, auditorium, locker rooms, parking and expansion of the effluent treatment plant.

New Dimicro

In a new format, Dimicro began to be reformed in 2022, with resources from the Municipal Fund for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (Fumipeq). The entire structure of the warehouses was restructured, including the electrical and energy substation, structure for compressed air, adequate lighting, security system, internal reform of the warehouses and accessibility adaptations on the outside.

The companies were selected through public notice nº 5606, available in the Official Gazette of the Municipality (DOM), and are in the field of tooling, metallic structure, metallic stamping, bio cosmetics, food, plastic injection, industrial equipment, natural articles, environmental technology, transport, hospital equipment, among others.
