Manaus FC beats RPE Parintins and is champion of the return of the Amazonense Championship

Manaus (AM) – Manaus FC is the champion of the second round of the 2024 Amazonense Championship. On Sunday night (7), Gavião Real beat RPE Parintins 1-0, at Arena da Amazônia, with a goal from striker Denis. The cup guaranteed qualification for Barezão’s final – against Amazonas FC, champion of the first round -, as well as a place in the Copa do Brasil, Copa Verde and Série D in 2025.

In the general final of the Amazonense Championship, Manaus and Amazonas face off in a single game, with the location, date and time to be defined by the Amazonense Football Federation (FAF). The expectation is that the decision will take place at the Sesi stadium, in the Coroado neighborhood, East Zone of Manaus.

Runner-up, RPE Parintins says goodbye to the season and returns to the field only in Barezão in 2025.

The game

Dominant at the beginning of the match, Manaus arrived in danger after just four minutes. Renanzinho took a free kick towards the area and the ball reached Gutierrez, who made a dry cut at Vagalume and shot left-handed, but Gabriel Henrique headed it over the line.

At 21, Renanzinho shot hard from outside the area for Robert’s defense. In the 38th minute, Felipe Tiririca launched a counterattack on the right, Roney crossed for Ibiapino, who scored a great goal, but the move was canceled for offside.

At half-time, Renatinho Potiguar changed twice, putting Denis and Thiaguinho in the places of Adenilson and Roney. And the changes took effect 40 seconds into the game, when Renanzinho made an individual play on the left wing, reached the baseline and crossed back. Shirt number 18 Denis arrived hitting, the ball deflected off the defense and entered the goal smoothly.

At five minutes, Renanzinho played with Thiaguinho and shot from the edge of the area towards the corner, but Robert went to get it. Parintins’ response came after 25 minutes. Daniel Costa played Állefe on the right, the winger crossed to the middle and when Léo Itaperuna was preparing to shoot, André Victor cut it.

In the 35th minute, almost Manaus’ second goal. Renanzinho took a strong front free kick, the ball went through the barrier and stopped after another save by Robert. The number 10 would miss a big chance in stoppage time, when he received a pass from Felipe Tiririca and finished at the post.
