Walter Casagrande, 60, took advantage of the Campeonato Paulista final, this Sunday (7), to celebrate his return to open TV. The commentator participated in the broadcast team of the game between Palmeiras and Santos, won 2-0 by the team from the capital, on Record.
Casão, as he is known, thanked the broadcaster for rescuing him, after his contract with Globo was terminated in July 2022. At the time, the Rio broadcaster — where he had worked since 1997 — announced that the decision had been taken by mutual agreement and the professional assessed that “it was a relief for both sides”.
“I thank Record for remembering me,” he said this Sunday, at the end of the broadcast. He also said he was proud to work with narrator Lucas Pereira and extended his praise to the team. “[Quero] I would like to thank all the cameramen, the makeup people, the production staff”, he said. “TV Record has always been very affectionate, it was an honor for me to work with you, I’m even moved.”
