The winner of the clash between Manaus and Paysandu will face Amazonas FC or Remo in the semi-finals

Manaus (AM) – Manaus FC and Paysandu face each other, this Thursday night (21), at 8 pm (Manaus time), in the first match of the quarter-finals of the Copa Verde. The match takes place at Arena da Amazônia. The return of the duel is scheduled for Sunday (24), at 5 pm, at the Curuzu stadium, in Belém (PA).

Manaus is packed into the competition. Gavião do Norte beat Tocantinópolis-TO in the round of 16, winning by a score of 3-2, at Arena da Amazônia. The club qualified for the competition as the best-placed team from Amazonas in the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) ranking and is now trying to advance to the semi-final stage of the Copa Verde.

Gavião do Norte’s opponent will be Paysandu, the greatest champion in the history of the Copa Verde, with three titles won in 2016, 2018 and 2022, the last two undefeated. The club from Pará overcame Rio Branco-AC without much difficulty, winning 3-0, and continues in search of its tenth semifinal in 11 editions of the competition.

The Copa Verde is a competition that is part of the calendar of competitions organized by the CBF. In 2024, the tournament was divided into two blocks, one with clubs from the Central-West region, with the addition of Rondônia and Espírito Santo, from the Southeast, and the other with clubs from the North region.
