Manaus (AM) – The 6th edition of the Copa Cidade de Manaus begins, this Monday (11), with the participation of more than 100 teams, in the three categories, and prizes of R$ 50 thousand in cash. The opening of the championship takes place, starting at 6pm, at Arena Amadeu Teixeira, Avenida Constantino Nery, Central-South Zone of Manaus.
The games were divided through a draw on the competition’s official page, on March 6, where the brackets were divided with the respective teams that are eligible to compete. The Copa Cidade de Manaus starts with six games, from the three categories of the tournament: Main, Masters and Women.
The sporting event is organized by the Amazon Sports and Cultural Innovation Institute (IDAMA), with the main objective of promoting players and discovering futsal talents in the State, opening the doors to the national market.
“In addition, we promote Amazonian futsal by believing in and valuing the potential of our local athletes, creating opportunities for them”,
said the entity’s president, Carlos Nazário.
In total, 108 teams are in contention. The World Cup will have its clashes in different areas of the city. First, the disputes take place in the group stage format and then in the knockout stages.
