This Saturday (01) Macapá Summer 2023 officially begins. The event promises to be the biggest of all times and will feature a diverse program that will last until the 31st of July.
Macapá Summer 2023 starts with the Street Race with a 5 km route, starting and finishing on Avenida Raimundo Álvares da Costa, next to Poeirão, in the Santa Rita neighborhood. The concentration will be at 5:30 am, with departure scheduled for 6 am. Over 5,000 people are expected for the race.
“This is the biggest Street Race ever held in Amapá and in the North of Brazil, as there were five thousand people who signed up. It is the largest because the award is the largest offered in the state, where we will award not only the elite category, but the category of wheelchair users and the visually impaired”said the Municipal Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Bruno Igreja.
In addition to the race, there will be other sports programs during the day. On Saturday (1), basketball and bicycle athletes compete at the Glicério Marques Complex. On the edge of the little farm, diversity volleyball takes place. At Araxá, Beach Wrestling athletes compete for awards.
Also, on Saturday and Sunday (2nd), the 1st Horse Race takes place at Ressaca da Pedreira. It starts at 2 pm with a place set for Pista do Haras. The unprecedented event will have the Marajoara, Mestizo and Purebred categories.
“We have a very extensive program throughout Macapá Summer. Don’t travel out of town, stay here and enjoy the greatest event ever”concluded the secretary.

- 9 am to 12 pm – Basketball 3×3 and basketball on wheels. Location: Glicerio Marques
- 3 pm – 1st stage of the Amapá Skateboarding Championship. Location: Glicerio Marques
Sunday (2)
- 9 am to 12 pm – Basketball on wheels. Location: Glicerio Marques
- 2:30 pm – Beach Wrestling – Location: Araxá
- 3pm – Diversity Volleyball – Location: Fazendinha
- 3pm – Bike Cross (BMX). Location: Glicerio Marques
