With the theme ‘Desafio dos Super-PeCedinhos’, Macapá City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Sport and Leisure (Semel), held on Sunday (26), the 1st edition of the 50 meter race for children and teenagers aged 3 to 16 years old with disabilities.

By faithfully making the superheroes’ clothes and reenacting the posture of comic book idols, the children sought inspiration to participate in the race and win the medal.

For Physical Education teacher, Bruna Carvalho, the race means overcoming in the lives of the little participants. “Running brings discipline and overcoming, in addition to bringing health to children”highlighted Bruna.

The activity included the participation of family members from different neighborhoods in the capital and reinforced the importance of building experiences between family, sport and leisure.

For Valdia Coutinho, from the Novo Horizonte neighborhood, who is the mother of little Esther, aged 10, sport and leisure are transformative and their practice brings lessons about citizenship and health. “Seeing my daughter, who is autistic, participate in these events is gratifying, because here she learns, has fun and interacts with other children. I really liked it and so did she”, said Valdia.

Ana Carla Barbosa took her daughter Clarice dressed as Wonder Woman and her nephew José Manoel as Superman to the event. “Wonderful initiative, we came from the Mara Baixo neighborhood to participate in the race. My daughter and nephew loved the moment”highlighted Ana.
