President Lula (PT) used his weekly internet broadcast to sting the opposition governors of São Paulo and Minas Gerais, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) and Romeu Zema (Novo) respectively, about New PAC resources for their states.

Lula demanded Tarcísio’s presence at an event to be held in São Paulo, to launch a project that will rely on funds from the federal government.

The president’s statements took place during the Conversations with the President, this Tuesday morning (29). Lula had been asked by the program’s presenter about his upcoming trips.

“I want to see if I can go to Minas Gerais and São Paulo next week to discuss investments in the state of São Paulo. [Tarcísio] want to participate, if you don’t want to participate, we will do the act the same way”, he said.

“But, as we are civilized, we are going to do and call the governor, because it is important for him to be there, because the commitments we are going to assume are with him too. If we are going to borrow money from the federal government, from BNDES, to build the Campinas railroad -São Paulo, we want the governor to be present, after all it is the state of São Paulo that will do it”, he completed.

State governors could indicate up to three priority projects to be included in the New PAC. The program was launched in the first half of August, at a major event at Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro.

Most of the governors were present. Some of the absences were precisely Tarcísio and Zema. The first announced in advance that he would not participate and that he would send deputy Felício Ramuth in his place.

Zema, in turn, did not comment at any time about the invitation.

Former minister of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), Tarcísio de Freitas has spent the last few days marking his position as an opposition to the federal government. At the moment when his party is negotiating entry into Lula’s government, he has already announced that he may leave the party if that happens.

On Monday night (28), Zema participated in an event at the Legislative Assembly that honored Bolsonaro, who became an honorary citizen of the state. The governor of Minas Gerais took the opportunity to caress the former president.

He said that, in the last government, the doors of the ministries “were open” and mentioned resources for works on the subway in Belo Horizonte. “These were some of the reasons that led him to receive the title today,” he said. He added: “We were listened to with attention from those who really want to reach solutions”.
