Camila Achutti, partner at Mastertech, gives the first tip: find an idea that has a connection with the reality of those who are going to register it. This proposal needs to have an objective approach, that is, it must be something that can be put into practice. We always hope to see clear and viable ideas, capable of positively impacting thousands of people. Camila Achutti suggests that the theme be personal and family. “Focus on a personal experience that led you to think about the idea. This is always a safer path, as there is your own knowledge that legitimizes the right to discuss the issue in question”, says Camila. Maria Eduarda de Carvalho, who took 1st place in 2023, created “Entre Pontos”, a platform to connect young students who share similar paths and routes in order to reduce vulnerability on the streets and expand access to educational institutions. The idea came from Maria Eduarda’s personal experience. As a high school student, she left home very early and felt vulnerable on the streets of Niterói, in Rio de Janeiro, where she lives. “First, the idea of ​​developing a ride-sharing app came to me, but there is already a similar idea. So I decided to migrate from private transport, from carpooling, to public transport, which is where my pain was”, explains Maria Eduarda. I have an idea, what are the next steps? Students interested in signing up for the initiative need to answer, in up to 2,000 characters, the following question: Based on your personal experience, what solution would you develop to improve the use of technology in education? Motivating question for the LED 2024 Challenge. Reproduction The proposal must have: What is the problem to be solved; How it affects people and affects the educational scenario; What is the proposal to resolve this problem? The proposal must be entered on the official challenge form (How many stages are there and how is the selection? The LED Challenge has five stages, from registration to defining the five big winners. Initially, 80 participants are chosen from among the entries submitted . Throughout the stages, the number of participants is reduced until only 10 finalists remain. At each stage, participants will participate in online mentoring and workshops that will help them discover and define the other objectives and the applicability of their idea. This will help define the format of the project for the final presentation. During the final presentation of the projects at the LED Festival, in Rio de Janeiro, the winners will discover their respective placements and their cash prizes, which range from R$30,000 to R$85,000 All these stages are monitored by Mastertech partners. While the evaluation of the eliminatory phases is led by Fabio Ribeiro, Camila Achutti is responsible for the pedagogical leadership of the Challenge. Schedule and details of the stages of the LED Challenge 🙋🏾‍♀️ Who can participate? Students over 18 years old. You must live in Brazil and be actively enrolled in the first semester of 2024. Enrollment in free, technical, undergraduate or extension courses, national or international, formal or non-formal, with a minimum curriculum of 100 class hours is valid. 🏆 5 ideas will be awarded with a total value of R$300 thousand: 1st and 2nd place: R$85 thousand each; 3rd: R$60 thousand; 4th: R$40 thousand; 5th: R$30 thousand. 📑 Check out the FIVE STEPS of the LED + g1 Challenge in detail: Registration: from February 1st to March 31st. At this stage, candidates fill out the registration form (and answer the question “Based on your personal experience, what solution would you develop to improve the use of technology in education?”. Selection of stories: Initially, 80 participants are chosen for the first innovation workshop. After the workshop, candidates submit a new idea and the 40 best projects advance to the next stage. Project selection: a new innovation workshop is held, with the aim of creating prototypes for the 40 projects . After the workshop, candidates submit a new idea and the 20 best projects advance to the next stage. Selection of prototypes: the third innovation workshop takes place, with a focus on storytelling, for candidates to adapt the presentation of prototypes to the event final. After the workshop, candidates submit a new idea and the 10 best projects advance to the next stage. Final phase: individual mentoring is carried out for the 10 final candidates and a presentation to the panel, which selects the 5 finalists .
