Banco Santander, the main sponsor of the Spanish Championship, released a note of repudiation of the act of racism suffered by Brazilian player Vinicius Junior, from Real Madrid, in the match this Sunday (21).

“Santander vehemently repudiates any manifestation of prejudice or racism and supports a quick solution”, reads the full message released by the bank this Monday (22).

Last year, Santander announced that it will not renew the contract with the games. But the brand sponsors the championship until the end of this season.

On social networks, internet users demanded a stance from the organization of La Liga, the arbitration and also the bank in the face of the case that is repeated against the player.

In his demonstration on the internet, Vinicius Junior stated that racism was normalized in La Liga, referring to the previous insults.

“It wasn’t the first time, nor the second nor the third. Racism is normal in La Liga. The competition thinks it’s normal, the Federation does too and the opponents encourage it. I’m very sorry. The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano and Messi today belong to the racists”, wrote the player.
