Justice finds address and orders quote from Robinho – 03/15/2023 – Sport

The President of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), Minister Maria Thereza de Assis Moura, determined that Robinho be “immediately” summoned in the process of homologation of the sentence of the Italian Justice.

The Brazilian player was ultimately sentenced in the European country to nine years in prison for rape. There is no longer any possibility of appeal.

The STJ’s request is that the attacker be cited at the address that his defense provided and where he is theoretically located.

On February 23, the minister had intimidated the PGR (Attorney General of the Republic) to consult databases to find a valid address for Robinho so that he could be quoted. The location was only found last Friday (10).

“Faced with the petition presented by the defense, informing the address where the defendant allegedly can be found, the letter of order sent to the Judiciary Subsection of Santos-SP is added, determining that it immediately promote the summons of the defendant”, says the text of the minister’s decision.

The citation is the first phase of the judgment homologation process. The objective of the Italian Justice is for Robinho to serve his sentence in Brazil, since his extradition request was denied, as well as the seizure of his passport.

After this procedure, he will have time to defend himself and then the case will be handed over to another STJ minister.

According to an investigation by the Italian Public Ministry, Robinho and five other Brazilians committed group sexual violence against a woman of Albanian origin, who was drunk by them and, unconscious, taken to the dressing room of a nightclub in Milan, where she was raped several times.

Because they left Italy during the investigation, the other four men could not be notified, and their case was dropped from the process.

Robinho has always denied the crime and his defense points out flaws in the process that would not have been taken into account at the trial.
