From Carauari, judoka Aliany Silva had important victories

From Carauari, in the interior of Amazonas, to the podiums of Brazil. Judoka Aliany Silva, just 15 years old, celebrates a historic week with the achievement of two bronze medals in the Regional Brazilian Championship and one gold in the FADE/CBDE State Selective for the Brazilian School Games (JEB’s 2024) in the Sub- 18.

The Brazilian Regional Judo Championship took place last weekend, April 6th and 7th, in Teresina (PI). Aliany, who is an athlete from the Carauari Youth Center/Bushidô Judo Team, was one of the sensations of the championship, as even at just 15 years old, she was a bronze medalist in the Under-18 and Under-21 classes, competing in the – 57 kg category .

In the Judo State Selective, held last Saturday (13/04), the girl from Calha do Juruá was gold medalist again. The spectacular performance guaranteed the young judoka among the 16 members of the Amazonian team that will compete in the JEB’s 2024. The national competition will take place in June, in Maceió (AL), and will serve as a tryout for the Gymnasiade (Under-18 School World Cup) , in October, in Bahrain.

“Very happy for this incredible week in my life. First, for the two bronze medals at the Brazilian Regional, and now for the gold and for qualifying for the JEB’s. I would like to thank Mayor Bruno Ramalho for his support, and the entire team at City Hall who supported me – Beto Oliveira, Neto Onofre, Sildina, my sensei Joel and everyone who helped and continues to help me. Carauari showed his strength in sport”,

came the prodigy girl, who is studying the 1st year of high school at the Osvaldo Nascimento State School.

“I am also grateful to the school management, my teachers. The school understands that I represent the institution and the sport of Carauari and granted me a license to compete, justifying my absences. When I return I will recover everything because it is not enough to be a good athlete, you also need to be a good student”,

concluded Aliany, who has already embarked towards Princesinha do Juruá.
