Cuca answers whether R$15 million player can leave Athletico

The attacker Romeo Benitezof Athletico, received an offer to play for another team. The information was confirmed by the technician himself Cuca this Sunday (14), after the 4-0 victory over Cuiabá, at the premiere of Brasileirão.

“Benítez received an offer, as did another player. Come in tomorrow [segunda] and Friday, they define their situation”, said the coach at a press conference, without revealing further details.

Starting four matches with Juan Carlos Osório, the athlete appeared less after Cuca’s arrival, being used in just one game. He has a contract until 2028 with Athletico and cost R$14.8 million – the fifth biggest signing in the club’s history.

The last time the Paraguayan took to the field was in the debut of the Sudamericana, against Sportivo Ameliano, when he played the final 15 minutes. In total, Benítez has six games and one goal for Furacão.
