About to leave the Chamber of Deputies, Joice Hasselmann says he will talk to the new president of the PSDB, Eduardo Leite, to decide on his permanence in the acronym. The deputy, who joined at the invitation of former governor João Doria, says that she “for now” will remain in the party, but she wants to know his directions.

“I think that the PSDB has to reinvent itself, restructure itself, reorganize itself, because it was hurt too much in the election. And all those who were in the PSDB were also hurt in the electoral process, because the party in some way, for many, became a anchor,” he says.

“The party needs to carry out a self-criticism, see itself a little better and take a new course,” she adds, who tried to renew her parliamentary mandate and failed.

After being elected in the Jair Bolsonaro wave in 2018, the deputy saw her votes dwindle from more than 1 million to just 13,679 in 2022. The parliamentarian is broken with the then president, who even mocked her vote last year.

Joice says that she does not rule out running again and that she receives appeals from voters to run for Mayor of São Paulo, as she did in 2020. “They believe in me, they think that I should not give up on politics. women.”

The deputy became a critic of Bolsonarism, which today she summarizes as a sect of radicals, “absolutely unprepared people, without the slightest sense of reality or decent criticism, in this pattern that we saw of coup leaders and extremists, people who create a parallel reality “. She believes, however, that a portion of Bolsonaro voters is looking for new leaders from the “rational right”.

After leaving the Chamber, she has plans to relaunch her online TV in February and return to making “Jornal da Joice”. She will also resume courses in communication and politics, actions that she was unable to reconcile with her parliamentary mandate, especially when she became leader of the Bolsonaro government.
