JC reinforces the squad with Pelci athletes for the Brazilian Under-20 Women’s Championship
The group debuts this Friday (9), at Arena da Amazônia, against Botafogo. The ball will roll at 3pm
Manaus (AM) – JC Futebol Clube, a team from Itacoatiara (176 kilometers from Manaus) that represents Amazonas in the Brazilian Under-20 Women’s Championship, will have reinforcements from athletes from the Sports and Leisure Program in the Capital and Interior (Pelci) in its squad. Players Adrya Oliveira, Ana Caroline Rodrigues, Jennyfer Matos, Danieli Lima and Camilly Vitória are part of the group that debuts this Friday (9), at Arena da Amazônia, against Botafogo. The ball will roll at 3pm.
Among them, Adrya Oliveira, at 17 years old, stands out not only for her youth, but also for the experience she gained. The athlete was discovered during a technical visit by the team from the State Secretariat for Sports and Leisure to Careiro da Várzea, in the Metropolitan Region of Manaus, having already competed in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship for Tigrão da Velha Serpa, in 2023.
“I’m very happy, motivated. I’m sure that when a person has a dream, they have to chase it. Pelci has helped me a lot in this search, not only me, but also the other girls. Now I just think about gaining more experience and doing well in the competition”,
Adrya said.
The squad also includes four other athletes trained at Pelci. Camilly Vitória, who also competed in the Brazilian Under-17 Championship for the team, Jenyfer Matos, Danieli Lima and Ana Carolina Rodrigues. They are all part of the more than 1,100 women benefiting from the program, participating in field football and futsal classes, covering both the capital and several locations in the interior.
“These are girls who have stood out within the centers, such as Vila da Prata, Teixeirão, Curió and Bairro da Paz. So this opportunity arose that JC is opening in partnership with the Government of Amazonas, we hope for great development and that from here, they can reach high performance, which is one of Pelci’s pillars”, said Ediglê Quaresma, Pelci’s football coordinator.
JC is in Group C of the competition, which also includes Cuiabá, Flamengo, Fluminense and Fortaleza. According to the regulations, the clashes will be against teams from Group D, in turn and return. The following teams make up group D, in addition to Botafogo: Cefama-MA, Minas Brasília-DF, Sport and UDA-AL.
