Dubai (UAE) – Brazil won, this Sunday (25), the sixth world beach soccer championship by beating Italy 6-4 in the World Cup final in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The historic winning goals were scored by Rodrigo (three times), Bruno Xavier, Genovali (own goal) and Brendo.

Counting the titles from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2017, the victory in Dubai consolidated the hegemony of Brazilian football in the sport. Russia is the team that comes closest to the Brazilian team in the sport, with three titles.

Brazil reached the title in an excellent campaign. Undefeated, the team beat all its opponents. Before defeating Iran on Saturday (24), in the semi-final, the team led by Marco Octavio beat Oman, Portugal and Mexico, in the group stage, and Japan, in the quarter-finals, at the World Cup.

Rematch?

The decision in Dubai was a repeat of the 2008 World Cup. On that occasion, Brazil beat the Italians 5-3 and took the title.
