At the end of January, the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, formalized a collaboration pact with the International Energy Agency, aiming to boost the energy transition both nationally and globally.

However, Brazil has not yet established a specific date to renounce fossil fuels.

Even though it has committed to the United Nations (UN) with the goal of achieving neutrality in net greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, the country has not yet established intermediate deadlines for reducing the use and production of these energy sources.
