David Almeida (Avante)’s rapprochement with Braga yielded yet another benefit for the current management

Manaus (AM) – The rapprochement between Mayor David Almeida (Avante) and Senator Eduardo Braga (MDB) yielded yet another benefit for the current administration. Through a parliamentary amendment, worth R$10 million, the Municipal Guard received the benefit of restructuring and modernization.

Senator Eduardo Braga has not yet recovered from the accident he suffered about two months ago, complications from the injury prevented him from participating in a ceremony alongside Mayor David Almeida (Avante) this Monday morning (30), in Manaus .

The rapprochement between David Almeida and Eduarda Braga, analyzed by political scientist Helso Ribeiro, is a strong basis for the head of the municipal council in the next 2024 elections.

“I often say that people can love or hate Senator Eduardo Braga, that for me is secondary, it is indisputable that he is one of the national leaders, on several occasions he was chosen as one of the heads of the National Congress. So I believe that for Mayor David Almeida he is someone interesting, because he can mainly bring funds from amendments, from ministries, that’s what I think is a great help”,

said Helso Ribeiro.

“It’s interesting that he (Braga) also has a local ally, I think Eduardo Braga himself is betting on this ally, David Almeida, at least at the moment. Just like for David Almeida, it is also interesting to have the support of Eduardo Braga”,

The senator, despite difficulties, participated at the beginning of September in the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Municipal Department of Housing and Land Affairs (Semhaf). Last week, Braga appeared, for the first time since his accident, walking without the support of a cane and wheelchair.

At this Monday’s event, Jesus, who is the municipal secretary of Housing and Land Affairs (Semhaf), defended the Almeida administration, which has been criticized by local politicians.

“Mayor David Almeida has been the victim of attacks that try to transform what is a great job and, in my view and that of the MDB, it is one of the greatest mayoral terms in recent times. It has been [o prefeito] placed in the condition that it has not delivered what the population expects. But, when we look at our acceptance numbers, there is no way to stand up to this lie”,

stated the city hall secretary.

David said that with the new equipment purchased with the resources, municipal guards will work in partnership with the Military Police (PM), with the Municipal Institute of Urban Mobility (IMMU), carrying out blitzes, providing security at bus terminals, in large fairs and other places with large crowds of people.

“The resources will acquire another 22 vehicles, which will add to the 15 vehicles we already have today. Let’s buy submachine guns, let’s buy rubber bullet pistols, let’s buy Municipal Guard uniforms, 12-gauge shotguns, heavy weapons, so that no municipal guard will be humiliated like it was at that time when they were setting fire to the city. Four municipal guards looking at vagrants setting fire to the city and no one could do anything”,
