Festival is aimed at productions with themes related to the LGBTQIAPN+ community

Manaus (AM) – Registration for the 1st edition of “Close”, a film festival held by Cacique Produções dedicated to fiction and documentary works, with themes related to the LGBTQIAPN+ universe, begins this Friday (1) and closes on April 30th.

The project was included in the Paulo Gustavo Law through the Manaus Audiovisual Cultural Identity Notice, with support from Concultura, Manauscult, Manaus City Hall, Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government.

Registration can be made via the link, which is also available in the Instagram bio @caciqueproducoes. Candidates can access the full festival regulations using the same link.

According to the festival’s creator and executive director, Wallace Abreu, Close opens an important cinematic window to diversity on Brazilian screens.

“In the audiovisual field there is a large number of works that permeate this universe, but there are not many spaces to display these productions. ‘Close’ expands this window, bringing a new horizon to this universe, giving visibility to regional, national and international artists and productions”,

highlighted.

Audiovisual producers and directors over 18 years old can register, with short films completed from January 1, 2021, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes, including film credits. When registering, the person responsible must present the link to view or download the film, accompanied by the access password (if applicable).

Works recorded in languages other than Portuguese will only be accepted if they have a dubbed or subtitled version. All registered films will be evaluated by a selection committee, and the works that best adapt artistically and technically to the festival’s requirements will be chosen.

The list of selected films will be released on June 3, 2024 and there will be no appeal, under any circumstances, against the decisions of the selection committee. After the chosen films have been announced, those responsible for registration will have up to 10 working days to send the download link, containing the screening version of the selected work.
