Among the measures, the strengthening of the asset security service stands out.

Manaus (AM) – With the aim of providing a safer and more peaceful environment for the entire academic community, the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA) announced a set of improvements aimed at the safety of the institution’s units located in the capital and in the interior of the state.

Under the supervision of the Dean of Administration, Prof. doctor Nilson José de Oliveira Júnior, directors and representatives of the units were gathered at the Rectory of the UEA to discuss the actions that will be implemented shortly.

Among the announced measures, emphasis should be given to strengthening the asset security service. Based on a joint survey with a specialized company, the lighting of the capital’s units will be improved, aiming to guarantee a safer environment for students, teachers and employees.

The rector of UEA, Prof. doctor André Zogahib points out that the new actions will provide a safer and more peaceful environment for the academic community.

“The implementation of these measures is fundamental to guarantee the integrity and well-being of students, professors and employees, strengthening the institution’s mission of offering an environment conducive to teaching, research and development”,

he said.

Another important point is access control, which is being tested at the School of Law (ED). UEA is implementing a system of gates and turnstiles to control the entry of vehicles and people, through facial identification. After completion of tests at the ED, this system will be installed in all units in Manaus.

With regard to hiring concierge agents, the administrative contract will receive an increase of 21.74%. This will result in a 32% increase in the expected workforce, established in the contract with the company Amazon Security Ltda.

All security posts will be manned by trained security guards, also emphasizing that they will have the appropriate equipment. In addition, there will be an increase of nine posts for daytime security guards and five posts for night security guards, all trained and equipped. The hiring of three security guards with motorcycles is also expected to carry out rounds.

The UEA is in the process of processing a new contract at the Shared Services Center (CSC), in order to carry out the bidding procedure. It is expected to take effect within four months.

Closed Circuit TV Monitoring System – Another important measure is the installation of a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring system. The university intends to install 699 cameras in all units in the capital, with a 24-hour monitoring center. This project is in the contracting phase, with a forecast of completion in up to 60 days.
