O striker hulk got tired of taking cards for complaining with the arbitration and informed this Friday that he will no longer be the captain of Atlético-MG.

The decision came from the player himself, who no longer intends to harm the team. Expelled after the derby with América-MG, he was out of the game in the 1-0 defeat by Corinthians, and is preparing to return to visit Goiás, on Monday.

The revelation was made at a press conference this Friday, in Belo Horizonte, in which the striker also spoke about speculation that he could return to European football, to defend the Turkish Samsunspor.

“I asked not to wear the captain’s belt anymore”, admitted the attacker, explaining the reason for the decision. “They say I get booked a lot. I always arrive with politeness and respect for the referees, but I’m punished”, he alleged. In this way, Felipão will have to choose another piece for the function.

Hulk comments on Turkish football proposal

On the possibility of going to Samsunspor, Hulk seems not to have been enthusiastic. “Proposals always arrive, but I’m very happy here,” he said. “I would only leave Atlético if it was something from another world, a very good thing for the club as well. I’m happy, focused and while I’m here, I’ll be 100% focused.”

Still without winning under Felipão’s direction – three draws and two defeats – the team has three games before the knockout of the round of 16 of the Libertadores, with Palmeiras, and hopes to have evolved in this game-free week.

“We fixed some things that were necessary. We made adjustments and I’m sure this time was very productive”, celebrated Hulk.

“The defeat to Corinthians hurt a lot and Professor Felipão, along with Carlos Pracidelli and Lucas Gonçalves (assistants), put several things into practice, which will be fundamental for us to turn that key”, he said, confident already in disenchantment in Serrinha, against Goiás.
