The sixth target of Operation Trapiche, a suspect who underwent a search and seizure warrant in Goiás on Friday (10), revealed to the Federal Police that he was face to face with the head of Hezbollah in Lebanon and that he was questioned by the leader of terrorist organization if it had the capacity to kill people.

The content of the statement contains details of the travel of the suspect involved with the terrorist group, according to information released by the National Newspaper. He would have revealed that the work proposed by Hezbollah was to “kill enemies”.

The suspect told details about how he arrived in Beirut and how he was taken to meet the head of the organization, escorted by heavily armed men. Among the rewards offered by Hezbollah would be an initial payment of US$200 million and an additional prize of US$500 million.

The man acknowledged having seen the terrorist group’s symbol on the clothes of some people he had contact with and stated that the terrorists’ conclusion was that he could be directed to organize structures, recruit people and organize logistics, while other members of the group would execute targets, also informed the JN.

The suspect has been arrested three times previously in Brazil, facing charges of reception in two cases, being acquitted in one case of kidnapping. After the hearing he was released. The information provided coincides with that of another suspect questioned last week by the PF, when two people were arrested as a result of the operation.

Since last Wednesday (8), the Federal Police have been executing warrants related to the investigation into the recruitment of Brazilians by Hezbollah to carry out terrorist acts in Brazil.

To date, 12 search and seizure warrants have been executed in Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Goiás and the Federal District and two arrests in São Paulo. The terrorists’ objective would be to carry out attacks against Jewish community buildings in Brazil, such as synagogues and other structures.
