Guto complains and cites “help” from the refereeing in Coritiba’s defeat

In Coritiba’s first defeat of the season, against Azuriz, 1-0, the coach Guto Ferreira complained about the refereeing of the match at the Os Pioneiros Stadium, in Pato Branco. According to the coach, the referee did not award a penalty to full-back Natanael in the first half and “helped” the home team’s victory.

“Azuriz had competence within their proposal. But they had help from the referee in a very clear move against Natanael. He said that the Azuriz player touched the ball, but he was the only one who saw that. The advantage we could have and We didn’t, we still injured the player. So we had two losses. That doesn’t take away Azuriz’s competence”, said the coach in a press conference after the game.

In the 45th minute of the first stage, Natanael was hit in the area and asked for a penalty. Referee Leonardo Ferreira Lima followed the game, which generated complaints on the field and on the club’s social media.

Coxa was unable to break through the Pato Branco team’s defense, even with more ball possession and more chances. Without Edu, who is treating a thigh injury, and with Robson on the bench, the starting attack was formed by Figueiredo, Wesley Pomba and Fabrício Daniel. The trio failed to perform well.
