Rehearsals in Manaus begin on March 23rd, at the Sambadrome

Bumbás Caprichoso and Garantido presented, this Friday (15), the schedule for the 2024 beef season. Rehearsals in Manaus begin on March 23rd and close on June 22nd. The program will take place at the Manaus Convention Center, the Sambadrome.

The Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of Amazonas, Marcos Apolo Muniz, pointed out that the rehearsals are important because they help to warm up the crowd for the Festival throughout the beef season. “It shows people who have never been there, a lot of people are passing through Manaus, for example, they won’t have the opportunity to go to Parintins but they can experience some of that emotion, going there on a weekend at the Sambadrome, the events are always free and it always brings a lot of people to that place”

The Amazonas Government’s investment in the festival, in 2024, will be R$8 million, R$4 million for each bumbá, in addition to private sponsorship of the oxen, which should reach R$15 million. Coca-Cola alone, which has supported the festival for 28 years, will transfer R$2.5 million in 2024, R$1.25 million for each ox.

According to data from the Amazonas Tourism Company (Amazonastur), in 2023, a total of 182,664 tourists were in Amazonas to carry out ecotourism in the state. In the same period, tourism generated more than R$146 million in the economy in Parintins, a 30.1% growth in revenue compared to 2022.

“It’s the only time we have to play bull in a lighter, softer way, because in Parintins, when the week of the festival arrives, then you can’t bring anything into the game, right? So, these trials are very important”, said the standard bearer of the Caprichoso ox, Marcela Marialva.

From the 22nd onwards, the program also starts in Parintins, with Boi de Rua do Caprichoso. On the 24th, the Ladainha do Boi Garantido takes place. The activities continue with technical rehearsals, the Visitors’ Festival, the three nights of the 57th Parintins Festival and the counting will take place on July 1st, on Tupinambaranda Island.

“As for the item, it is also a test of evolution. Time to try new movements, to show some different things, to see if it will work or not. So, this work, which is done in Manaus during rehearsals, is of great importance and has a huge impact on the festival”, said Pajé do Boi Garantido, Adriano Paketá.

57th Parintins Festival

The opening of the 57th Parintins Festival took place this Friday (15), at Teatro Amazonas, in Manaus. On the occasion, the official brand of this year’s festival was revealed, created from the winning art of the Mural Bumbódromo 2024 competition. The event was open exclusively to artists from Parintin and, after curation, the artistic-visual work “Patrimônio em Festa” was defined. ”, by Pito Silva, as having the merit of being the basis of creation for the visual identity that will conquer the world.
The Festival will be held on the 28th, 29th and 30th of June.
