The nightclub Galeria Café, in Praça Benedito Calixto, in São Paulo, will close its doors after three years of operation. The space, which arrived in the city in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic, began its activities in 2021, and will close its activities due to financial problems incurred during the isolation period.

A venture between the couple Alexandra Di Calafiori and Cláudio Lins in partnership with 14 other partners, the house gained fame in São Paulo thanks to the parties and the Restô restaurant, which in addition to snacks and finger foods featured a menu of dishes created by chefs Daniela Sardinha and Roberta Ciasca, the latter owner of Miam Miam, in Rio de Janeiro, served during nightlife and at lunch time.

The house’s last event will be the New Year’s Eve party “Festonna”, which in addition to honoring the singer Madonna will also feature a set with songs by other pop divas, such as Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, Cyndi Lauper, Dua Lipa and Lizzo, among others. Tickets cost R$500 and include an open bar and open food.

A success in Rio de Janeiro for more than 20 years, Galeria Café has established itself as an LGBTQIAPN+ club and one of the favorite spots of Rio’s artistic class with the “Galharufa” party, responsible for welcoming artists after theater shows in the city. Tickets for “Festonna” are still on sale via the website shotgun.live.
