Fluminense overcomes Vasco and forwards the hiring of Lelê, top scorer of the Carioca Championship by Volta Redonda

Fluminense overcame the competition from Vasco and agreed to hire striker Lelê, who is currently the top scorer in the Carioca Championship with Volta Redonda. Before routed with the Cruz-Maltino, the tricolor entered the circuit and managed to change the direction of the negotiation. The information was initially released by ‘ge’ and confirmed by EXTRA. The fact that Fluminense was playing for the Libertadores weighed heavily, which was seen favorably by the striker and his staff. The proposal offered to Itaboraí Profute, the club that owned Lelê’s rights, was also higher than Vasco’s.

Lelê will join Fluminense only after the Carioca Championship dispute. Until then, he remains linked to Volta Redonda. If he faces the tricolor in the semifinals, he is also fit to be on the field.

Lelê belongs to Itaboraí Profute and emerged in football in Rio playing for Maricá. At the club in the region of the lakes, he shone in Série B of the Campeonato Carioca and in Copa Rio, where he was top scorer in both competitions. He aroused the interest of Volta Redonda and has lived his best phase ever since.

His initial contract with Voltaço ran until December 2021. Afterwards, the club announced the renewal until the end of 2023, according to Volta Redonda himself (in a note, Itaboraí states that the loan is valid until April 10. Upon signing the new bond, his termination fine increased: it rose from R$ 1.5 million to R$ 4 million for Brazilian football; abroad, is 8 million euros (about R$ 44 million)
