Flamengo performs last training session before the confrontation against Hurricane

Athletico-PR and Flamengo face off at Arena da Baixada for the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil, this Wednesday night (12), at 8:30 pm (Manaus time). The confrontation will be held at Arena da Baixada, in Curitiba.
Previously, in the first leg, Fla won by 2 to 1. Thus, Mengo will play for a draw away from home to advance. In the previous phase, the Rio de Janeiro team eliminated Fluminense by 2-0 on aggregate at Maracanã.
Fla preparation
Flamengo is preparing for a decisive game. The Mais Querido defined the schedule aiming the clash in Curitiba. The Flamengo squad held their last training session at Ninho do Urubu on Tuesday (11). At 3:30 pm (Manaus time), the Red-Black delegation headed to Galeão International Airport, where it boarded.
Meeting between Flamengo and Rubro-Negro
Since 2019, Flamengo and Athletico-PR have been meeting in the knockout stages of the Copa do Brasil. Since then, there have been two classifications for each side, in alternate years. 2019: Flamengo and Athletico-PR played the first duel in the sequence of games in 2019, both in July. In the first match, played at Arena da Baixada, the score ended in 1 to 1. Gabigol scored for Fla, and Léo Pereira for Athletico.
In the return match, at Maracanã, the result of regular time was repeated, and the vacancy decision went to penalties. Gabigol, again, scored the goal for Flamengo, while Rony scored for Athletico. On penalties, the team from Paraná won by 3 to 1 and qualified for the semifinal.
2020: The following year, it was Flamengo’s turn to qualify, after securing victories in the two matches valid for the round of 16. In the first duel, also at the Arena da Baixada, Fla won 1-0, with a goal by Bruno Henrique.
In the second match, playing in their domains, Rubro-Negro from Rio won by 3 to 2. Pedro scored twice and Michael closed the score in favor of Flamengo. For Athletico, the goals were scored by Erick and Bissoli.
2021: In the edition in question, the teams faced each other for the semifinal, and Athletico eliminated Flamengo. The first game was played by the team from Paraná, and ended in a 2-2 draw. Pedro Henrique and Kayzer scored for the home team, while Thiago Maia and Pedro were the authors of Fla’s goals.
In the return game, played at Maracanã, Athletico beat Flamengo 3-0, with goals from Nikão, Ivaldo and Khellven. With the result, the team from Paraná advanced to the final of the tournament.
2022: Last year, Flamengo won the title and eliminated Athletico in the quarterfinals. The first match was played at Maracanã and ended 0-0 on the scoreboard. At the opponent’s home, Rubro-Negro from Rio de Janeiro won the return duel by 1 to 0, with a goal by Pedro, and advanced to the semifinal.
