More than 100 Education, Social Assistance and Health professionals participated in the activity

The State Secretariat for Education and School Sports promoted, this Wednesday (09), in the Auditorium of the Padre José Anchieta Training Center (Cepan), the Meeting of Municipal Coordinators of the Bolsa Família Program in Education. The purpose of the initiative was to clarify and guide the new Bolsa Família Model, in addition to monitoring student attendance, guaranteeing the right to enrollment, education, monitoring and, above all, preventing school dropout and dropout.

“Today, we are here with all the Bolsa Família coordinators, in partnership with the State Department of Health (SES), with the Department of Education and the State Department of Social Assistance (Seas). This meeting is to guide approximately 100 professionals, from 34 municipalities present here, on the new Bolsa Família Model” ,

explained the director of the Department of Educational Policies and Programs (Deppe), Eriberto Façanha.

The event also had the participation of municipal coordinators representing the municipal education departments. Currently, more than 700,000 students, aged between 4 and 18 years old, benefit from the Bolsa Família program in Amazonas.

“We have a system that monitors all questions about the attendance of students covered by Bolsa Família. The program does not want to punish any family, it wants to guarantee the right to enrollment, education and monitoring of these students”,

highlighted the State Coordinator of the Bolsa Família Program, Aline Albuquerque.

Bolsa Família Program

Bolsa Família is a federal government income transfer program. To be entitled to the benefit, families must fit the income criteria, considered poverty and extreme poverty.

In addition to income requirements, children’s school attendance must be 60% for children between 4 and 5 years of age and 75% for children between 6 and 18 years of age; have an up-to-date vaccination record; monitoring the nutritional status of children under 7 years of age and carrying out prenatal exams in pregnant women on time.
