Departures may represent R$ 3 million to Inter’s coffers

Inter is far from having the group ready for the current season. However, the ten departures promoted by the football department show who coach Mano Menezes wants to count on to compete in the competitions that he will have in 2023. With a solid base and a starting lineup well on the way, Colorado needs punctual players to reinforce the squad . In fact, two starting players – a midfielder and a striker – are the current need. Of course, a few more group pieces will be needed.

But for that to happen, the board promoted some dismissals. The outflows generated savings of approximately R$ 3 million for coffers. However, this amount will not all be committed to new salaries, as the payroll was swollen. Of this amount, half will be used for the arrival of other athletes.

Since December, when the group reappeared to start the pre-season, ten players were dismissed, loaned, sold or had their contracts terminated: goalkeeper Daniel, right-back Weverton, defenders Roberto and Kaique Rocha, midfielders -campers Liziero and Edenilson, and forwards Taison, Gustavo Maia, Braian Romero and David.

While the football executive and the coaching staff use their creativity to seek reinforcements in the market that qualify the squad, the quick solution for some sectors may be at home. The Colorado base can be a source of good athletes for the team and, in the future, to reinforce the cashier, in a future sale.

For Gauchão, which starts next Saturday, against Juventude, in Beira-Rio, defender Felipe Souza and striker Lucca will be tested. Even if they have few opportunities, the two youngsters are already living with the professional group in the pre-season. Something similar has already happened with midfielder Matheus Dias, left-back Thauan Lara, and midfielders Estêvão and Lucas Ramos, all trained at the club and who should gain more space this year.

What perhaps Mano Menezes and the board are looking for are experienced athletes to replace Edenílson and Taison’s departures. In addition to identification and the time they wore the colorada shirt, both played leadership roles in Inter’s locker room.

At the moment, the colorado group has only 23 athletes, since Gabriel is recovering from injury. Apart from Mário Fernandes and Pedro Henrique, the other players are young. In the next few days, the management should announce goalkeeper John, who will replace Daniel. The archer from Santos is 26 years old and has already played in a Libertadores final.

In the market, Colorado is likely to be looking for two midfielders – a defensive midfielder and a defensive midfielder. And for the attack, the idea is to look for a center forward to compete with Alemão. Mano’s idea is to have a squad of 27 to 28 players for the season.
