When commenting on the leak of the audio attributed to lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid – former orderly assistant to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) – former deputy and former Lava Jato prosecutor, Deltan Dallagnol, said that Cid “destroys the credibility of his statement and the work of the PF (Federal Police) and the STF (Supreme Federal Court) in the case against Bolsonaro”.

In the audio, Cid reports pressure from the PF for whistleblowing, criticizes the STF minister, Alexandre de Moraes, and says that the PF has a “ready narrative” in the investigations against Bolsonaro.

The audio attributed to Cid was released this Thursday (21) by the magazine Look. The military officer said investigators “didn’t want to know the truth.”

“As we have been denouncing for years, it seems that the real dick of the 21st century and the real torture of prisoners to obtain information, as Messrs. Dias Toffoli and Gilmar Mendes said, was not, as it never was, in Lava Jato. I was at the STF the whole time”, said Deltan in a post on the social network.

Deltan also highlighted that Cid “was illegally detained for months without being reported (which is an abuse of power and never happened in Lava Jato)”.

As reported by People’s GazetteBolsonaro’s defense is expected to ask throughout the day, this Friday (22), for the removal of the secrecy of lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid’s plea bargain following the leak of the audios.

Preliminary information indicates that Mauro Cid should be heard by the STF this Friday to explain the audios and a possible reevaluation of the agreement.

According to Lookthe audios were recorded last week after Cid gave a statement to the PF on the 11th.

Cid was arrested in May last year during Operation Venire, which investigated alleged fraud in vaccination cards. He was released in September, after reaching a plea agreement, approved by Moraes.

The soldier’s testimony was used by the PF to support arrest and search and seizure warrants in the Operation Tempus Veritatiswhich investigates an alleged coup plot.
